Spring Awards Banquet Held

The spring awards banquet was held on Wednesday, May 15, at the Pierce High School gymnasium. The awards given out were for track and boys’ golf.

First was the boys’ golf team with coaches Rick Adams and Zach Weber. The letter winners were sophomores Hunter Raabe, Chaden Roth, Mason Sedlacek, and junior Reid West.

Golf head coach Rick Adams said, “We have a lot of young golfers on the team, which bodes well for the future. A highlight of our season was winning the Pierce Invite.”

Next were track awards presented by coach Tim Waldner. The letter winners included seniors Kaleb Anderson, Janae Arens, Maggie Brahmer, Dylan Delka, Kaylee Dvorak, Wyatt Flesner, Abbey Fuerhoff, Isaac Lambrecht, Devan Roth, Marie Stone, and Rhayna Waldner. The juniors who lettered were Maiya Baumann, Zoe Brenden, Dalton Freeman, Gavin Larson, Carson Oestreich, Kyler Peters, Colby Richart, Brett Tinker, Seth Valverde, Cole Vogt, and Angelica Volquardsen. The sophomore letter winners were David Dale, Dalton Delka, Miles Garcia, Cruz Gleason, Elizabeth Hammer, Faith Lubischer, Abigail Meier, Sarah Miller, Logan Moeller, Kenzie Moeller, McKenna Shonka, Mason Sindelar, and Dawson Watts. The freshman letter winners were Callie Arnold, Morgan Blecher, Brock Bolling, Christopher Efta, Sarah Fenton, Colton Fritz, Kaden Johnson, Marlie Kroupa, Michael Kruntorad, Taylor Miller, Ritter Oestreich, Payten Simmons, Alexus Sindelar, Katie Vogt, and Gina Wragge. Lastly, plaques were given to the track athletes that scored 100 and 200 points throughout the season. Scoring 100 points were senior Devan Roth; junior Dalton Freeman; sophomores David Dale, Mason Sindelar, Kenzie Moeller; and freshmen Payten Simmons and Katie Vogt. Scoring 200 points were senior Maggie Brahmer, junior Carson Oestreich, and freshmen Callie Arnold and Alexus Sindelar. Throughout the season, there were a number of track athletes who made it into the top five record book. Senior Kaylee Dvorak is #3 for discus with a throw of 125’2”, and Maggie Brahmer is #5 for high jump with a height of 5’4” and is also #4 for 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.33. Junior Colby Richart is #3 for discus with a throw of 163’0”, Gavin Larson is #3 for triple jump with a jump of 43’11¾“, Angelica Volquardsen is #5 for pole vault with a vault of 8’0”, and Carson Oestreich is #5 for 4x100 with a time of 44.03. Sophomore Mason Sindelar is #4 for the 800-meter run with a time of 2:01.47, and Kenzie Moeller is #5 for the long jump with a jump of 16’8”. Freshman Alexus Sindelar is #4 for the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:37.9.

Coach Tim Waldner said, “We had a really good season between attitudes and depth and improvement; it is about as good as it could be.”

Athletes of the year were also recognized. This year’s were seniors Ryder Fuchs and Maggie Brahmer. Four-year, three-sport athletes were recognized, as well, and these were Marie Stone, Maggie Brahmer, and Abbey Fuerhoff.
