Boys’ Golfers Finish Season at Districts
by MacKenzie Peters
Five Pierce High golf members placed 4th in the district golf meet held at the FairPlay Golf Course on Monday, May 13. Fourteen teams competed in the 18-hole C-3 meet.
Sophomore Hunter Raabe led the team with an 84 and placing 14th. Following him was sophomore Chaden Roth who shot an 89, landing him in 19th. Mason Sedlacek shot a 98, which put him in 29th place. Reid West was not far from Sedlacek, shooting a 99 and placing 34th. In 47th place was Shawn Rinkel who shot 110 and landed in 47th place. These scores added up to a score of 371 for Pierce.
In order for golfers to attend state, teams had to land in the top three or individuals had to score within the top ten, and with Pierce falling just four strokes shy of 3rd-place BRLD, the Bluejays’ season ended.
Head coach Rick Adams said, “I felt like we didn’t handle the pressure very well, but I’m hopeful moving forward with our young team. Overall, I was very pleased with our season. We improved a lot as the season went on, and we have a very good group of hard-working guys.”
