Bands Perform Final Concert

Pierce held their annual all-school band concert on Friday, May 3. Grades 5-12 performed a variety of songs in the high school gym.
The 5th grade band performed the songs “Merrily We Roll Along” and “Jingle Bells, and More!” The 6th grade band performed “Bang the Drum All Day,” “A Shaker Hymn,” and “Drive.” The junior high band took the stage with “Raiders March,” “Dance of the Dawn,” and “Crazy for Cartoons.” The high school band performed the songs “Selections from Disney/Pixar’s Up,” “The Great Locomotive Chase,” and “A Salute to Spike Jones.” For the finale of the concert, grades 6-12 combined and performed the song “Feel It Still” and even incorporated dancing.
Ending the night, the seniors were honored as is tradition. Those who took part in band for six semesters and above were given awards. Jacob Pedersen was awarded with the John Philip Sousa Award, and Janae Arens, Dylan Delka, and Macie Timm were awarded with the Patrick Gilmore Award. The seniors also honored their director Mr. Sindt with gifts.
Director Michael Sindt said, “All the bands performed to a very high standard to provide maximum entertainment for the audience. I had many favorite and proud moments from each age group that played, but the most memorable is when all of the students grades 6-12 performed ‘Feel It Still,’ dancing and having a great time performing.”
