8th Grade Speech Team Ties for 3rd

Pierce Public’s 8th grade speech team traveled to Wayne High School to compete at the junior high speech meet, where they tied for 3rd overall out of eleven teams.
Tristan Kuehler and Alena Peters competed in Public Speaking, where Peters got 3rd. Katelyn Gubbels competed in Prose Interpretation. The team of Addison Croghan, Nik Harvey, Zaylah Pfanstiel, and Brielle Unseld got 4th in Oral Interpretation of Drama. Competing in Duet Acting were the pairs of Brielle Unseld and Kaila Spieker (5th), Katelyn Gubbels and Brooke Reddest, and Madison Altwine and Tavin Koehler (3rd).
Speech coach Melissa Legate said, “It takes a lot of courage to compete in speech, especially as a young competitor. I am very proud of how all of them performed, and the future looks bright for Pierce speech.”
