F-S Track Team Competes at Wisner-Pilger

The freshman and sophomore Bluejays traveled to Wisner for the Wisner-Pilger track invitational to take on their competitors on Saturday, April 6, for their first meet of the season. The girls took home the gold, and the boys placed 4th.
Starting with the girls, Gina Wragge placed 3rd in 100 hurdles with a time of 18.69. The 100-meter dash ended with Elizabeth Hammer getting 1st with 13.87 and Maiya Baumann with 5th at a time of 14.63. In the 800-meter run, Callie Arnold placed 1st with a time of 2:35:93 followed by Payten Simmons with a time of 2:44:31. For the 200-meter dash, Hammer achieved 1st again in 28.65, and Baumann placed 3rd with 30:47. As for the girls’ relay teams, both teams took the champion spot. The 4x100 team of Arnold, Wragge, Alexus Sindelar and Simmons finished with a time of 53.88. The 4x400 team of Arnold, Morgan Blecher, Simmons and Sindelar finished with a time of 4:29.16.
In the boys’ division, Michael Kruntorad placed 3rd in 110-meter hurdles with a time of 19.72. The boys were also successful in the 100-meter dash with Colt Arnold placing 3rd with a time of 12.52 followed by Coleton Cooper with a time of 12.63. For the 200-meter run, Kaden Johnson got 3rd with a time of 25.67, and following close behind was Arnold with 5th in 26.28. For the boys’ relay team, Kruntorad, Max Cooper, Johnson, and Coleton Cooper finished 2nd in the 4x100 with a time of 49.04.
Head track coach Tim Waldner said, “I think the meet went great. For those where this was their first time at a track meet, I think they all did a great job, and for those for whom it was their second or third, I have seen improvements in their performances.”
