Pierce Students Dance the Night Away at Prom

by Autumn Hanna

On Friday, March 29, Pierce High held their annual junior-senior prom hosted by the junior class. This year’s theme was “Night of a Thousand Lights.” The dance was held at the White house in Pierce.

To start the night off, junior class president Carter Rohrich and senior class president Jakob Meier both gave speeches welcoming students. To follow that, the sophomore servers performed their skit about a teenage couple getting ready for prom, going to prom, and ending the night by breaking up. After their hilarious skit, the servers started to pass out the food catered by Taylors for all the students who attended.

Once everyone had stuffed themselves, it was time to clear the tables and start the dancing to the music provided by Complete Music. From fast-paced line dances to swaying slow songs, the dance floor was jam-packed. Once the dance was finally over around 11, it was time for everyone to head to post prom.

Post prom was held at the YMCA this year and hosted by the junior and senior parents. There was a large amount of food, games, and fun for everyone. Some of the main events were laser tag, wallyball, and swimming. The YMCA opened the pool from around 2:00-3:00 in the morning. The big pool had $200 worth of quarters at the bottom, and the kids had to swim to get as much money as they could. At the end of the night, there were prizes given away to the juniors and seniors, such as TVs, speakers, gift cards, and many other exciting items.

Junior Cayce Carlson commented about her prom experience saying, “My junior prom was a great experience and something that I will remember for the rest of my life.” Senior Kiley Bierman also added, “I thought the dance was a lot of fun. I liked the song choices and how the DJ was excited to get involved with the students.
