Band Members Chosen for UNK Honor Band

Nine members of the Pierce High band were selected to attend the University of Nebraska Kearney Honor Band on Monday, January 28.
Jacob Pedersen, Abbey Sedlacek, Katrina Meier, Mason Sindelar, and Dylan Delka were selected for the honor band. Stephanie Rinkel, Klarissa Norris, Susan Venteicher, and Mark Venteicher were selected for the festival band.
To be selected for these honor bands, students from across the state sent in audition recordings to the University of Nebraska Kearney to be evaluated with the help of their band teacher, Michael Sindt. Those students who were selected were invited to Kearney to perform a concert following a day of rehearsals.
On the day of the concert, the band rehearsed four songs for their show at 5:30 in the Health and Sports Center at UNK.
“The students represented Pierce well amongst the over 50 schools that participated,” said band director Michael Sindt. “It is exciting to come together from so many places and work one day for a common goal.”
