Girls’ Basketball Shoots into Season
by Kenzie Moeller
With five seniors, one junior, four sophomores, and ten freshmen on the girls’ basketball team, head coach, Darren Sindelar is ready for a great basketball season. The team began practice on Monday, November 12.
Seven returning letter winners (Kenzie Moeller, Abbey Fuerhoff, Brianna Aguilera, Maggie Brahmer, Kayla Simmons, Zoe Brenden, and Marie Stone) will lead the Lady Jays, bringing a strong core with varsity experience and having the potential to be a good inside and outside team.
Coach Darren Sindelar said, “I am looking forward to seeing how this team gels. I don’t know if I have ever been around a team with freshmen making up half of the team. We have potential at all levels. I am looking forward to seeing if we can consistently compete day in and day out. Our coaching staff needs to work hard to push the players to their potential.”
The Lady Jays’ goals for the season are to play to their potential and work hard in practice, as well as in games. Their first game will be at home with Howells-Dodge on November 29 beginning with the freshman game at 4:30.
