One-Act Kicks off with Drama Festival

Pierce High’s one-act cast and crew went to Wausa for the Swedish Festival on Friday, November 9.
Under the direction of Mrs. Danielle Goetsch, the group is performing Madea this year. There was no placing done at the festival, but there were awards for outstanding performances. The overall female actress was Emilia Goetsch as Madea and the overall male actor was Peter Halsey as Jason, Madea’s ex-husband. Others recognized for outstanding performances were seniors Janae Arens, Rose Graham, Sydney Slater, Macie Timm, Stephanie Rinkel, and Rachel Fenton; juniors Sydney Erickson and Caydan Retzlaff; sophomore Abygail Streff; and freshmen Zachary Price, Madisyn Hamm, and Chloey Cederburg.
The one-act group performed again on Tuesday, November 13, for Mid-States, and their next performance is Saturday, November 17, at 6 p.m. at the Pierce Auditorium. This will be the community performance and is open to the public.
