“It was a rough season. There were times we played really well together as a team but there were more times where we let errors get us down early on. The girls showed great perseverance throughout the season. They always came to practice ready to work hard and improve, just, unfortunately, they didn't always show up to play at games. Even though the season didn't go our way, we did some really great things. We hit the ball really well and our fielding improved immensely by the end of the season.” Said coach Marika VonSeggern. “Our fielding of the ball was a big improvement we made. The girls went from never charging the ball to fielding the ball all the way through and letting their momentum help their throws. We also improved our batting. All the girls were hitting the ball well by the end of the year, even though they didn't always show up at game time. We had to go back and relearn a lot of the basics so hopefully, the girls continue to work on that in the offseason and we can begin to build the first day of next season.”
This was the final game of the season for the Lady Jays.
