Girls’ Golf at Mid-State

Pierce High girls’ golf went to Wayne to play their conference meet on Thursday, September 27. The girls placed fifth as a team with a score of 470.
Individually, Sydney Erickson was conference champ with a score of 87, Samantha Svendsen placed fifth with a score of 98, Rebecca Albrecht got 26th with a score of 122, and Madisyn Hamm placed 35th with a score of 163.
Coach Melinda Stelling said, “We were mentally ready for this meet. I felt as a team we could have done better, but overall I am proud of the girls.”
Golf’s district meet was Monday, and the team’s next meet will be state on Monday, October 8, for all who qualify.
Girls’ Golf Competes at Battle Creek

The girls’ golf team traveled to Battle Creek on Tuesday, September 25 to compete in a triangular against Battle Creek and Elkhorn Valley. The Lady Jays placed second.
Individually, Samantha Svendsen shot 47 and placed first. Sydney Erickson shot 56 and placed fourth. Rebecca Albrecht shot 58 and placed sixth. And Madi Hamm shot a 53 and placed 14th.
The girls’ golf team played their district meet on Monday, October 1. The state meet is on Monday, October 8. Parents’ night for the girl golfers is Friday, October 5.
