Pierce High Cross Country

Cross Country at Stanton Invitational

Pierce High’s cross country team went to Stanton on Thursday, September 27, for an invitational. The Pierce varsity boys’ team placed first among the ten teams competing.

Individually, Mason Sindelar got first with a time of 17:35. Cole Vogt came in fourth with a time of 18:22. Chris Efta ran eighth with a time of 19:15. Carter Jensen was tenth with a time of 19:24. Brock Bolling got 19th with a time of 19:50. Colt Arnold placed 22nd with a time of 19:57. Dalton Haase placed 33rd with a time of 21:19. The one junior high runner for the boys, Gavin Geneski, placed fourth with a time of 6:52.

Five girls’ teams participated; however, with too few female runners, Pierce could not score as a team. Alexus Sindelar got first place individually with a time of 20:24. Callie Arnold was not far behind at third with a time of 21:26. Bridget Raff placed tenth with a time of 23:49.

Cross Country has parents’ night on Friday, October 5, and the junior high runners go to Papillion, Nebraska, on Saturday, October 6.


JH Cross Country Hosts Invite

Pierce Junior High cross country hosted the Pierce Invite on Tuesday, September 25.

Pierce had only two members who ran, both boys. Gavin Geneski placed sixth with a time of 12:21; Ashton Koch got tenth, running the race in 12:34. They did not have a team placing.

There were 11 schools at the meet with 96 boys and 56 girls competing. Not all of the schools had full teams.  

Coach Gary Shada said, “Gavin and Ashton ran quite well, and I was very pleased with their performances.”

The next junior high meet will be on Tuesday, October 9 at Yankton.
