JH Football Plays First Game of Season

Pierce’s junior high football teams played O’Neill at Pierce Tuesday, September 11, for their first games of the season. Pierce won both the 7th and 8th grade games.

The final score of the 7th grade game was 20-8 with Pierce on top. Gavin Sullivan had a 65-yard touchdown run. Then Deon Watts had a pick-six, intercepting the ball and running it back for a touchdown to put the Jays in the lead. For the final touchdown of the game, Sullivan had another touchdown run for 35 yard touchdown, and one two-point conversion was made.

The score of the 8th grade game was 40-22, Pierce. Ben Brahmer had two touchdowns, with one for 40 rushing yards. Abram Scholting had a 20-yard touchdown run. Colby Anderson ran the ball 15 yards for a touchdown. Luke Endorf caught a pass from Scholting for a 58-yard touchdown pass. Keeton Weeder had a 25-yard touchdown run. In total, there were two successful two-point conversions to make the final score 40 points for Pierce.
