Football Kicks Off Season

by Montana Ruppert

The football team and their coaches beginning official practice on Monday, August 6.

The the team is 56 strong, with returning lettermen including all current juniors and seniors, as well as some of the sophomores.

Preparing for this season, the football team has had a lot of time in the weight room and the summer training program. The football team has many goals set for this season, with some including winning every game, making playoffs, playing in November, and challenge the first spot in the championship game.

“All in all, no team that is on our schedule this season is going to be an easy win,” said coach Mark Brahmer. “The season starts off with a hard team who is one of the best teams in our conference. All the teams that we will face are very competitive teams. Coming back this season, we have a lot of experience from the upperclassmen. We also have some sophomores and freshmen that have some experience. Our first game is going to be a good hard-nosed football game.”

The football team takes the field this friday for their annual scrimmage, but their first official game will be played at home against Norfolk Catholic on Friday, August 24.
