Pierce Track Competes at Norfolk Catholic

The Pierce tracksters travelled to Norfolk Catholic on Thursday, May 3, to take on their last regular season meet. The varsity boys’ team placed 2nd, and the JV boys’ team placed 8th. The varsity girls’ team placed 2nd, and the JV girls’ team placed 8th.
For the varsity boys, placing in the 100-meter dash were Collin Tinker with 2nd and Carson Oestreich with 3rd. Placing in the 200-meter dash was Jadon Magdanz with 6th. Placing in the 800-meter run was Mason Sindelar with 6th. Placing in the 110-meter hurdles was Devan Roth with 1st. Placing in the 300-meter hurdles were Oestreich with 1st and Roth with 3rd. Placing 2nd in the 4x100-meter relay was the team of Oestreich, Tinker, Dylan Delka, and Roth. Placing 2nd in the 4x800-meter relay was the team of Sindelar, Isaac Lambrecht, Ian Fisher, and David Dale. Placing in the high jump was Braydan Waldner with 2nd. Placing in the pole vault were Cody Yawn with 2nd and Miles Garcia with 6th. Placing in the triple jump were Waldner with 3rd and Sindelar with 5th. Placing in the shot put was Cruz Gleason with 6th. Placing in the discus throw was Colby Richart with 4th.
For the JV boys, placing in the discus throw were Seth Valverde with 3rd and Kaleb Anderson with 6th. Placing 4th in the 4x100-meter relay was the team of Brett Tinker, Logan Moeller, Kage Heisinger, and Zach Collison. Placing 4th in the 4x800-meter relay was the team of Kyler Peters, Cole Vogt, Zane Gleason, and Jeremiah Kruntorad.
For the varsity girls, placing in the 100-meter dash was Elizabeth Hammer with 3rd. Placing in the 200-meter dash was Hammer with 3rd. Placing in the 400-meter dash was Kenzie Moeller with 5th. Placing in the 100-meter hurdles were Maggie Brahmer with 2nd and Grace Spieker with 5th. Placing in the 300-meter hurdles were Brahmer with 2nd and Faith Lubischer with 5th. Placing 3rd in the 4x100-meter relay was the team of Hammer, Moeller, Lubischer, and Brahmer. Placing 4th in the 4x400-meter relay was the team of Hammer, Moeller, Spieker, and Rhayna Waldner. Placing in the high jump were Brahmer with 1st, Sidney Zimmerer with 3rd, and Waldner with 5th. Placing in the long jump were Zimmerer with 2nd and Moeller with 3rd. Placing in the triple jump were Meredith Fasse with 2nd and Lubischer with 4th. Placing in the shot put was Kaylee Dvorak with 2nd. Placing in the discus throw were Waldner with 1st, Dvorak with 4th, and Carly Sutherland with 6th.
For the JV girls, placing 6th in the 4x100-meter relay was the team of Maiya Baumann, McKenna Shonka, Angelica Volquardsen, and Abbey Fuerhoff. Placing 6th in the 4x400-meter relay was the team of Abigail Meier, Katrina Meier, Baumann, and Shonka. Placing in the 400-meter dash was Katrina Meier with 6th.
The Pierce track team’s next meet will be districts on Thursday, May 10, in Albion.
Freshmen and Sophomore Tracksters Compete at Home

Freshmen and sophomores on the track team competed in the Pierce Invitational on Monday, April 30. The boys’ team took runner up with 107 points.
For the girls, Elizabeth Hammer placed 1st in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.1 followed by Maiya Baumann in 5th with a time of 13.6. In the 200-meter dash, Hammer finished in 2nd with a time of 27.6. Kenzie Moeller won the 400-meter dash, running a time of 65.6. In the 800-meter run, Cayce Carlson placed 6th with a time of 3:27.3. Bridget Raff placed 3rd in the 1600-meter run with a time of 7:06.9. Faith Lubischer finished 3rd in the 300-meter hurdles with a final time of 53.1. The 4x1 relay team of McKenna Shonka, Baumann, Angelic Volquardsen, and Lubischer finished in 2nd place with a team time of 55.6. The 4x4 team of Carlson, Shonka, Abigail Meier, and Baumann finished in 5th place with a time of 5:08.4. In pole vault, Volquardsen finished in 2nd place with a height of 8’ followed by Morgan Crist in 5th place with a height of 7’6”. K. Moeller placed 2nd in long jump with a distance of 15’8½”. Lubischer won the triple jump with a distance of 31’7½” followed by Meier with a jump of 29’7”. Finally, Sarah Miller placed 5th in discus with a throw of 93’4”. The girls scored a total of 94 points.
On the boys’ team, Miles Garcia placed 5th in pole vault with a height of 10’6”. Brett Tinker won long jump with a distance of 19’5¼” followed by Logan Moeller placed 6th with a jump of 18’5½”. In triple jump, Mason Sindelar finished in 2nd place with a distance of 39’5¼” followed by L. Moeller with a distance of 38’9”. In discus, Colby Richart took home 1st place with a throw of 163’. Cruz Gleason placed 2nd in shot put with a throw of 39’7¾”, and Richart placed 4th with a distance of 38’4”. The 4x8 team of Jeremiah Kruntorad, Cole Vogt, Zane Gleason, and Kyler Peters placed 2nd with a team time of 10:05.7. Tinker placed 3rd in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.7. In the 1600-meter run, Kruntorad placed 4th with a time of 6:07.1 followed by Jayden Sporleder in 5th place with a time of 6:13.1. The 4x1 team of Tinker, Kage Heisinger, L. Moeller, and Zach Collision placed 4th with a team time of 49.9. Sindelar won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:12.8, and Garcia placed 6th with a time of 2:26.9. David Dale placed 1st in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.9 followed by Colt Arnold in 6th with a time of 25.4. Lucas Gnat received 4th place in the 3200-meter run with a time of 13:26.7. The 4x4 team of Arnold, Dale, Heisinger, and Vogt placed 1st overall with a time of 3:54.2.
Head coach Tim Waldner said,“It was very windy, but we got a lot of PR’s for a short meet in tough conditions.”
The varsity’s next meet will be the district meet at Albion on Thursday, May 10.
