Bluejay Wrestlers Qualify 3 for State

The Bluejay wrestling team traveled to Malcolm to take on districts from Friday, February 9 through Saturday, February 10. Bringing home three state qualifiers, the team placed 7th overall.
Placing at districts and earning a spot to state were Cody Yawn (1st), Ryder Fuchs (2nd), and Brett Tinker (3rd).
Individually, Yawn went undefeated at 132 going 4-0, Fuchs went 3-1 at 195, and Tinker went 5-1 at 145. At 106, Devin Graae went 2-2. At 113, Mason Sedlacek went 3-2. At 120, Jeremiah Kruntorad went 2-2. At 126, Jayden Sporleder went 1-2. At 138, Zane Gleason went 1-2. At 152, Nelson Emerson went 1-2. At 160, Travis Jensen went 1-2. At 182, Cole Cheney went 1-2. At 285, Dylan Kuehler went 2-2.
“I felt confident that the boys would compete hard,” coach Tyler Legate said, “and we did compete hard overall.”
The Bluejay state qualifiers will be heading to CenturyLink in Omaha on February 15, 16, and 17 for state wrestling.
