One-Act Performs for Community and School
by Angelica Volquardsen
The one-act cast, crew, and directors held the community performances of their play The Beggar’s Opera on Monday, November 20, at 2:30 and again at 7 p.m. at the auditorium in Pierce.
Every year, the one-act cast and crew use the community performances as opportunities to rehearse their play before district competition. According to director Mrs. Danielle Goetsch, this year’s performance’s strong points are humor and improvisation.
Mrs. Goetsch said, “This performance wasn’t their best one, but they showed improvement in certain areas. I would like to improve on the ensemble, choreography, and reactions before districts. Our goal for districts is the be competitive and finish in the top two.”
The one-act’s next performance is districts at Central Community College in Columbus on Friday, December 1, for a shot at state.
