Boys Basketball Starts Season
by Rhayna Waldner
With the start of winter practice on Monday, November 13, the 2017-2018 boys’ basketball team began their upcoming season.
The official start to the season comes after their doing team camps, and open gyms all through the month of June. Once again led by head coach Mike Emory, the team has three returning letterwinners who are Braydan Waldner, Jadon Magdanz, and Taylor Oestreich. There are 27 boys out for the team.
The team will certainly face tests throughout the season. “The Holiday tournament is one of the better ones around,” Coach Emory said. “It’s more competitive and most and the Mid-States Tournament is always difficult night in and night out.”
Coach Emory believes that the team’s biggest strengths this season are the hardworking nature of the group, as well as the fact that they are proving to be highly coachable and competitive. His main goal for the team is that they are playing their best come district time. Their first competition is Thursday, November 30, at Howells-Dodge High School.
