CC Bluejays Flying To State

The Pierce High cross country team competed at districts at O’Neill. The boys placed 3rd as a team on Thursday, October 12, to qualify for the state meet.

The team consisted of Isaac Lambrecht, Ian Fisher, Cole Vogt, Mason Sindelar, Miles Garcia, and Colt Arnold. For the individual placings, Sindelar got 4th with a time of 17:33.00. In 11th place was Fisher with a time of 18:19.00. Cole Vogt’s time of 18:21.00 earned him 13th place. Coming in 26th place was Lambrecht with a time of 19:05.00. Miles Garcia got 28th with his time of 19:10.00. In 28th place was Colt Arnold with a time of 20:56.00.

In the girls’ race, Bridget Raff received 37th out of 56 runners with a time of 24:41.00.

Coach Gary Shada said he hopes the team will place in the top three at state, and that a key factor in doing so will be that “Everybody has to run like they’re capable of running. No one can have an off day.”

Pierce will compete in the state cross country meet will take place at Kearney on Friday, October 20.
