PHS Students, Staff Serve Community
Pierce High School held its annual Community Service Day the morning of Thursday, September 21.
All students and staff participated in the endeavor designed to help the school “give back” to the community that supports it. Students were divided into groups led by staff members and assigned to various jobs around the community.
Some of the tasks completed included projects at local churches and businesses, Willow Creek Recreation Area, Pierce Public and Zion elementary schools, and the homes of Pierce residents. Other groups did highway and street cleanup, or completed maintenance and cleanup projects around the high school grounds.
“I believe our Community Service Day was a major success once again this year,” said PHS principal Mark Brahmer. “A lot of quality work got done throughout our town and surrounding area. It's a day our students and staff enjoy and a way for us to give back to our community.”
