Bluejays Run in O’Neill CC Invite

The junior high through varsity cross country teams of Pierce competed at the O’Neill invite on Friday, September 15, and ended with team finishes of 3rd for girls’ junior high and 2nd for boys’ varsity.
For the varsity boys, Mason Sindelar took 5th place with a time of 18:23.00. In 14th place was Ian Fisher with a time of 19:04.00 with Cole Vogt right behind him in 15th place with a time of 19:07.00. Just behind them was Isaac Lambrecht with a placing of 17th and time of 19:26.00. Miles Garcia took 22nd place with his time of 20:06.00, and Colt Arnold placed 27th for finishing in 20:56.00.
Coach Gary Shada said of his hopes for the next meet, “I am hoping that we can close the gap between our number one runner and our number two runner.”
As the lone varsity girl runner, Bridget Raff got 25th with her time of 26:08.00 in the 5K run. In boys’ JV, Dalton Haase received 5th place with a time of 22:01.00.
The junior high girls got 3rd thanks to their times in the 2,000-yard run. Alexus Sindelar got 1st with a time of 6:05.00, while Callie Arnold followed closely behind with a placing of 2nd and a time of 6:28.00. In 25th place was Addison Sporleder with a time of 7:44.00, and 29th was Ciara Garcia with a time of 7:57.00.
The cross country teams will be competing at Yankton on Thursday, September 21.
Cross Country Boys Place 2nd at Wayne

The cross country team traveled to Wayne Monday, September 11, and came home with the boys’ varsity team earning 2nd place.
Individually for the varsity boys, Mason Sindelar was the highest scorer getting 2nd place with a time of 18:05.72. Isaac Lambrecht got 9th place with a time of 18:43.91, Ian Fisher got 10th place with a time of 19:06.59, Cole Vogt got 12th place with a time of 19:15.85, Miles Garcia got 16th place with a time of 19:51.25, Colt Arnold got 27th place with a time of 21:13.39, and Dalton Haase got 55th place with a time of 23:53.43.
For the varsity girs, Bridget Raff got 17th place with a time of 24:55.99.
In the junior high girls’ division, Alexus Sindelar got 1st place with a time of 11:19.15, Callie Arnold got 3rd place with a time of 11:40.43, and Addison Sporleder got 13th place with a time of 14:51.94.
The next cross country meet will be Thursday, September 21, at Yankton.
