Jazz Band Competes at NECC Jazz Festival

On Tuesday, March 28, the jazz band from Pierce High traveled to Northeast Community College for the 35th annual NECC Jazz Festival and took home 1st place.
The jazz band competed at the festival in the level 2 high school group and received a superior rating. Junior Aguilar also received a solo certificate for his trombone performance, and Bryce Bierman received a solo certificate for his alto sax performance.
The students who competed were Aguilar, Bierman, Devin Kerber, who had a baritone sax solo, Jordyn Bullock, Dylan Delka, Brianna Aguilera, Rachel Fenton, Abbey Sedlacek, Grace Spieker, Katrina Meier, Macie Timm, Abbey Fuerhoff, Alexander Kesting, Parker Baumann, Jacob Pedersen, and Mason Sindelar.
Band director Mike Sindt said, “Our jazz band did a great job at the NE Jazz Festival. I was particularly impressed at the attention to detail and musicianship from not only our soloists, but our entire group.”
