Rock Tumbling in Fourth Grade
Fourth graders listened and watched as Clayton Carlson's dad, Jerome Carlson, showed rocks that would be put into a tumbler with grit and water. These rocks will go through several different stages of tumbling and polishing, which will smooth them down and give them a shiny finished look. Mr. Carlson explained how the machine worked and talked about rock tumbling as a hobby. Each stage of the process will be shown to the students throughout the upcoming weeks.
