JH Wrestlers Compete in Battle Creek

Brock Bolling got the Jays off to a good start by taking 1st place in the 78-pound division. Bolling finished 2-0. Pierce had two wrestlers in the 94-pound division. Devin Graae went 0-2, and Isaiah Adams went 2-2 on the day. Michael Kruntorad went 2-2 in the 108-pound division. In the 115-pound division was Aiden Gnat who went 1-2. The Jays had two wrestlers again in the 120-pound weight group. Breyton McCrady finished the day with a 1-2 record. Mason Sindelar had six matches and went 3-3. Alex Clausen wrestled in the 120-pound division for the Jays, and he went 0-2. Travis Jensen represented the Jays in the 135-pound weight group, and he finished the day with an 0-2 record. Pierce’s 145-pound wrestler was Dustin Jensen, and he went 0-2 on the day as well. Pierce had two wrestlers in the 155-pound weight division, and they were Ren Gleason and Max Cooper. Gleason finished the day with a 1-2 record, and Cooper finished 0-2. Nick Erickson performed very well at the meet and took 1st place for the Jays in the 170-pound weight group. Erickson concluded the day 3-0.
Head coach Gary Shada said, “We probably had three matches that we lost by 1 point. If we win those matches, we finish two spots higher as a team, but overall we competed well. Nick Erickson had his best tournament of the year.”
The team's next meet is Saturday, December 10, at Boone Central/Newman Grove.
