Sophomores Attend Career Day at WSC
Sophomores attend Wayne State College Career Day

All Pierce High sophomores were able to attend this year’s Wayne State College Career Day on Tuesday, October 18. There were over 900 students in attendance.
The day started off with a sign-in and a speaker, who spoke about setting goals and achieving them. She said, “You should risk boldly, bravely, but wisely when planning your future.” Next, the sophomores were sent to their assigned sessions they chose throughout the college campus. After these three career sessions, they had two sessions about how to prepare for the future. These last two sessions covered college preparation for life after high school. One of the sessions was called, “College Students Tell it All.” In this session, there was a panel of six college students telling about their experiences with college and giving advice to students and answering their questions about college. All the presenters at the Career Day volunteered their time to help.
“I think seeing real people doing the jobs that students are interested in is one of the most helpful ways to help students decide on a future career,” said Mary Birch, the school counselor. “I think the Career Day went smoothly considering more than 900 students attended.“
