Bluejay Marching Band Performs at Vermillion

Pierce’s marching band performed in Vermillion, South Dakota, at the University of South Dakota on Saturday, October 15, for the Quad-State competitoin and received their highest score of the year.

The band performed their show “Cirque du Soleil- La Nouba.” The show consisted of the songs “Distorted,” “Reve Rouge,” “A La Lune,” and “Urban.”

There were 22 schools that participated in the competition, and the Bluejay marching band earned 2nd place in the II A Division with an overall score of 78.750, which was Pierce’s highest score so far this year.

Student teacher Nate Acton, who has helped the band prepare all semester, said, “I think we played wonderfully. It was one of the best performances we’ve had all year.”

The band will play again on Saturday, October 22, in Kearney.
