Cross Country News Oct 10th - Oct 15th

 

JH Cross Country Runs Through Finish Line

Pierce’s junior high cross country team ended their season strong at the Yankton Invitational on Tuesday, October 11.

Alexus Sindelar and Callie Arnold got things rolling for the Jays as they finished 1st and 2nd respectively. Sindelar finished in a time of 17:20, and Arnold came in just after her with a time of 17:21. Bridget Raff finished 15th in a time of 19:27. Coming in 36th, Abby Streff ran a 21:56. The girls did not receive a team score for the meet.

The boys also ran well at the invite. Mason Sindelar finished 4th in 15 minutes flat. Next came Miles Garcia, who came in 7th running a 15:27. The boys did not receive a team score either.

Head coach Gary Shada said, “I was extremely proud of how the whole team supported each other throughout the season.”

 

Varsity Cross Country Runs Through End of Season

Pierce High’s cross country team traveled to Albion on Thursday, October 13, for the district invite. The team earned 9th place overall.

Cole Vogt was the first Bluejay runner to cross the finish line as he finished in 23rd place with a time of 18:15. Next for the Jays was Ian Fisher in 24th place, and he finished in 18:29. Chance White finished in 46th place with a time of 19:42. The next finishers for Pierce were Dalton Haase in 56th place, and Logan Kallhoff in 57th. Haase ran a 20:33, and Kallhoff ran a 20:41. Pierce concluded their season with a 9th place finish at districts.
