Student Council To Host Pumpkin Run for Multiple Sclerosis
Student Council To Host Pumpkin Run for Multiple Sclerosis
by Kayla Simmons
Pierce High’s student council will be putting on a Pumpkin Run for Multiple Sclerosis on Sunday, October 23, beginning at 2 p.m. Runners should report to the football stadium between 1:15 and 1:45 p.m.
The Pumpkin Run this year will be a 5K or 1 mile fun-run. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation. Before the run begins, participants should dress up in costumes to take part in a costume contest. The runners will then be given t-shirts to compete in by the council. After the run, there will be multiple games, a hayrack ride, and a pumpkin launcher built by the physics class for everyone to enjoy.
Registration forms for the run can be picked up at Pierce High School or downloaded from piercepublic.org. The registration forms must be sent to the Pierce High Student Council at 201 N. Sunset Street. They must be turned in by October 14. The entry fee for each runner will be $25.00. Please make checks payable to Pierce High Student Council or Pierce Public Schools. Proceeds from the run will go to Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
If registered before October 14, the runner is guaranteed a t-shirt to wear during the run. If forms aren’t turned in time, runners may not be guaranteed a t-shirt. Early packet pickup will be on October 22 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Pierce High School commons area. The race map will also be included by a confirmation e-mail.
