Shoes for the Homeless
September 13, 2016
Lisa Muhs
Ms. Muhs' Kindergarten class is going to have a Shoe Drive starting
Monday, September 19 and ending
Friday, October 14
. The shoes will go to families in need and homeless in this region. The shoes are given out free of charge to those in need. Attached is the organization's website that they are working through so you can see what kinds of wonderful things they are doing: http://www.shoesforthehomeless.net The organization has never worked with a group out of Nebraska so Ms. Muhs is hoping we can show them what an awesome community we have!
Attached is a flyer for more information: Kindergarten Shoe Drive Flyer
They are looking for shoes for men, women, and children. They accept any lightly used or new shoes - boots, running, dress, sports, etc. They are also in need of new socks.
The kindergarten's goal is to get 100 pairs of shoes by October 14. Ms. Muhs will take the shoes to the site after we get all of the shoes sorted. She will let everyone know how many shoes they were donated...the kindergartners will count them and sort them. :)
Please either tie the shoes together with the laces or put a rubber band around them so we keep the set together.
You can drop off the shoes and/or socks to Ms. Muhs room, Room 1 at the Elementary.
Thank you for any donations!
