Pierce’s Lady Jays softball team stepped back onto the field Monday, August 8, for the official beginning of fall practice.
The girls did a couple things this summer to get ready for the fall season, including the fact that the majority of the girls playing summer ball. Also, as a fall ball team, the girls participated in three days of team camp that consisted of two days getting back into the fundamentals on the home field and one day at Central Community College fields in Columbus, where they played four situational games.
The team’s new head coach, Cady Reinke, said, “The girls are well prepared for the upcoming season with all the things they have been working on in practice.”
Returning letter winners for this season include Jordyn Bullock, Hailey Race, Annie Johnson, Courtney Yawn, Brianna Aguilera, Kiley Bierman, and Kaylee Dvorak.
The team’s first game was played Thursday, August 18, in Wisner, and they will take to the field again on Saturday, August 27, for a tournament that will also be held in Wisner.
