Pierce Holds Dance Tryouts

Leaping, turning, and smiling for judges, dancers from Pierce High tried out for the Bluejays’ Dance Team on Thursday, April 21, in the high school gym. The 2016-2017 dance team members are Halle Ross, Hannah McCrady, Jade Dickey, Kristina Gutman, Macie Timm, Shianna Oestreich, and Stephanie Rinkel. The dance team captains are Shianna Oestreich and Stephanie Rinkel.
The girls had to attend practices before tryouts. During these two practices, the girls learned and perfected a 30 second routine, and worked on other technical dance moves such as turns and leaps.
On Thursday, the girls were judged on their ability to perform the dance along with technical moves. Thier judges included the dance sponsor Ashley Wright, two dance team members from Wayne State, Sherri Raabe, and Noelle Sindelar.
