Elementary Halls Decorated to Honor Veterans
The Pierce Elementary school entryway has been decorated to honor all Veterans who had or are currently serving in our United States Armed Forces. Every student played an important part in making this tribute a success. The focus this year was on 'freedom' and what it means to you. Students in 4-6th grades were asked to design a puzzle piece by drawing pictures or using words to represent what freedom means to them personally. Grades 2-3rd wrote thank you notes of the freedoms they are thankful for. Preschool thru 1st grade colored thank you stars. The combination of all these artworks together created an American flag symbolizing that we together create one great nation! The gratitude that is shown toward our service men and women in this display is humbling. Thank you Veterans for you service yesterday and today! The artwork of the students will be on display until Christmas break. Everyone is welcome to come and view what the students have created.
