The Fourth Grade Eruptions

The Fourth Grade Eruptions

The two fourth grade classes made volcanoes. The kids were studying about Earth’s movements in science class. They were put into small groups for their volcano projects. Some groups were all boys and one group was all girls. Some groups had a mix of boys and girls. The kids made two types of volcanoes: shield and composite. They made them one day and erupted them two days later. Some of the supplies the kids used were play dough, dirt, Diet Coke, Mentos, baking soda, vinegar, pans, and toys. Caleb Newman commented, “It was very cool.” Braxtynne Emerson said, “It was fun making them and erupting them.” Michael Holkesvig remarked, “It was awesome!” Amber Shefl said, “It was fun watching all of the eruptions.”
