Pierce High Honors Spring Activities

Pierce High School held its annual spring activities banquet on Tuesday, May 13, in the Pierce High gymnasium.

To start off the night of awards, the Booster Club gave out the four-year awards to athletes who have been involved in sports all four years of their high school careers; those people were Ethan Anderson, Payge Anderson, Kim Carlson, Jared Cheney, Drew Fasse, Collin Freeman, Hannah Higgins, Johnnie Huff, Tyler Kocian, Noah Krueger, Colin Magdanz, Rachel McGill, Matthew Penne, John Polt, Shalene Richart, Synthia Schuett, Sydney Silhacek, Shannah Unseld, Jake Ussery, Garrett Wickett, Kierstyn Wragge.

After the awards given by the Booster Club, Mr. Mark Brahmer gave out three awards to his weight lifters who have been dedicated to lifting with him every morning at 6 o’clock. He gave those awards to Levi Sudbeck, Junior Aguilar, and Caleb Sullivan.

Boys’ golf was next, and coach Mr. Rick Adams gave his golfers many awards. Freshmen recognized for their participation were Ethan Blecher, Jaden Gleason, Taylor Oestreich, and Dysen Roth. Sophomores were Parker Baumann, Bryce Bierman, Kyle West, and Chance White. For the juniors, Cody Asmus, Derek Asmus, Matthew Bruce, and Trevon Ronspies were recognized. Finally the seniors were Zach Brenden, Tyler Kocian, and Yanik Hauri. The letter winners for boys’ golf were Ethan Blecher, Dysen Roth, Kyle West, Matthew Bruce, and Zach Brenden.

The track awards were up next. Coach Tim Waldner presented all of his tracksters with awards and thanked all 69 student athletes for going out for track in the 2015 season. There were 23 freshmen recognized for going out for track; those athletes were Cody Brown, Brenna Collison, Meredith Fasse, Ian Fisher, Trevor Guenther, Kristina Gutman, Bennett Hoffmann, Annie Johnson, Maci Kroupa, Alex Lindsay, Destiny Martin, Hannah McCrady, Wyatt Nietzke, Jordan Peitz, Grace Spieker, Carly Sutherland, Collin Tinker, Braydan Waldner, Dawson Weber, Cody Yawn, Courtney Yawn, Kaleb Zamora, and Sidney Zimmerer. The eighteen sophomores were Junior Aguilar, Coltin Bauer, Jordyn Bullock, Lexi Dunn, Spencer Emerson, Amanda Hammer, Merissa Harris, Dillon Lubischer, Ellie Moeller, Shianna Oestreich, Walker Raabe, Hailey Race, Krystina Schuett, Madison Siedschlag, Brady Simmons, Emily Simmons, Caleb Sullivan, and Haley Wieting. For the juniors, the 14 athletes were Kate Asmus, Taggart Bailey, Jaci Brahmer, Shelby Bretschneider, Mason Buckendahl, Austin Freeman, Joshua Gnat, Brandi Sporleder, Brady Starkel, Morgan Stone, Levi Sudbeck, Casey Sutherland, Theisen Ziehmer, and Noah Zimmerer. The 14 seniors were Payge Anderson, Dillon Dickey, Noah Fisher, Hannah Higgins, Allison Koehlmoos, Colin Magdanz, Rachel McGill, Matthew Penne, Briana Polt, Shalene Richart, Braden Taylor, Rachelle Tucker, and Kierstyn Wragge. Those that earned letters for track were Brenna Collison, Meredith Fasse, Ian Fisher, Trevor Guenther, Kristina Gutman, Bennett Hoffmann, Annie Johnson, Maci Kroupa, Alex Lindsay, Destiny Martin, Hannah McCrady, Jordan Peitz, Grace Spieker, Carly Sutherland, Collin Tinker, Braydan Waldner, Cody Yawn, Kaleb Zamora, and Sidney Zimmerer for the freshman. Every senior lettered this year; those seniors were Payge Anderson, Dillon Dickey, Noah Fisher, Hannah Higgins, Allison Koehlmoos, Colin Magdanz, Rachel McGill, Matthew Penne, Briana Polt, Shalene Richart, Braden Taylor, Rachelle Tucker, and Kierstyn Wragge.

The evening closed with words from activities director Johnnie Ostermeyer, who will be leaving at the end of the school year. Ostermeyer said he enjoyed his two years at Pierce.
