Work-a-Day Auction is a Success

Forty FFA members and one advisor were “sold” on the evening of Thursday, March 16, for the 57th annual FFA Work-A-Day Auction, held in the multipurpose room of PHS. The members sold for an average of over $120.
Eleven freshmen were sold averaging $101 per member. Tyler Unseld sold for $210 bringing the top dollar. Five sophomores were auctioned off averaging $176 per member. Quentin Anderson brought top dollar selling for $225. Thirteen juniors were sold averaging $124 per member. The top junior was Emily Lambrecht at $200. The senior class sold eleven members and averaged $136 per member. Garrett Wickett sold for $310 as the top senior. Sponsor Mr. Jamie Stark was sold for $110. Buyers were asked to pay through the I Believe in the Future of Agriculture campaign sponsored by CVA. For every dollar sent to the Nebraska FFA Foundation, CVA matches that amount toward the foundation, which goes toward supporting agriculture programs and FFA in Nebraska. The money will come back to the chapter plus a percentage of a pool of money also put forth by CVA, which contains several thousand dollars.
Senior, Heath Lienemann said, “I felt that the auction raised a lot of money for our chapter and promoted FFA and our chapter in a very good way.”
Each member will receive 10% of their earnings put into a scholarship fund that they will receive at the chapter banquet their senior year to help pay for college.
