Power Lifters Place 2nd

Power Lifters Place 2nd

The Bluejay power lifters traveled to Humboldt, NE, to compete on Saturday, March 28. The team placed 2nd overall.

The competition consisted of lifters, who were divided by weight class, executing bench, squat, and dead lifts, and each lifter was awarded points based on how many total pounds he or she lifted for the day.

In Brodey Peters’s weight class, he placed 2nd. For squat, Peters got hurt before he got to that event, but for the other two events, Peters benched 170 and dead lifted 135 for a total of 305 points.

Caleb Sullivan, Noah Zimmerer and Walker Raabe were all in the same weight class. Sullivan placed 3rd lifting 270 for squat, benching 205, and dead lifting 305. Zimmerer placed 4th benching 180, squatting 240, and dead lifting 325. Raabe placed 5th in this weight class with squatting 250, benching 160, and dead lifting 330.

In the next weight class Johnnie Huff, Junior Aguilar, and Collin Tinker competed. Huff placed 4th; he squatted 350, benched 225, and dead lifted 350. Aguilar squatted 300, benched 210, and dead lifted 345 to place 7th. Tinker placed 9th while lifting 240 in squat, 210 in bench, and 350 in dead lift.

In the next weight class, Bradon Dickey and Colin Magdanz got 6th and 8th, respectively. Dickey got 340 in squat, 235 in bench, and 350 in dead lift. Magdanz got 315 in squat, 205 in bench, and 375 in dead lift.

Wyatt Polt got 1st in his weight class, with squatting 365, benching 210, and dead lifting 430.

In the next weight class Clay Johnson and Dillon Lubischer placed 1st and 5th, respectively. Johnson squatted 375, benched 285, and dead lifted 450. Lubischer benched 180, dead lifted 340, and squatted 315.

PHS’s only girl attending, McKenzie Kallhoff, placed 2nd in her weight. She squatted 195, benched 100, and dead lifted 220.
