Cheerleading tryouts for the 2015-2016 cheerleaders took place on Thursday, March 26.
Twenty-one young ladies from eighth to eleventh grade tried out. Making the team were, for the football season, Olivia Steffensen, Alexa Douglass, Jessica DeGroff, Alexis Behmer, Shelby Ronspies, Ellexis Dunn, Brianna Furstenau, Kristina Gutman, Hannah McCrady, and Abigail White. Many of the same girls made the volleyball season as well. Volleyball cheerleaders for next year will be Alexa Douglass, Alexis Behmer, Brianna Furstenau, Shelby Ronspies, Jessica DeGroff, Abigail White, Kristina Gutman, and Hannah McCrady . As for basketball, Alexa Douglass, Olivia Steffensen, Shelby Ronspies, Ellie Moeller, Ellexis Dunn, Kristina Gutman, Brianna Furstenau, Abigail White, Annie Johnson, and Stephanie Rinkel made the team.
To prepare for tryouts, throughout the week, the girls learned a cheer and a dance, and made up new moves to a cheer. They also worked on many jumps and kicks. For the tryout, it was necessary to perform the dance, do the both cheers, and execute three jumps.
