Fifth Grade Explores Science
Fifth Grade Explores Science
by Noah Fisher
Retired PHS teacher Mr. Don Wood invited a group of fifth grade students to four-day science camp on March 9, 10, 12, and 17. At this camp, students were able to explore many topics in science while getting hands-on in a lab setting.
The camp’s schedule involves four different science topics: measurement in science, forces and motion, chemical processes, and a paper towel lab. These activities are designed to spark the students’ interest in the field of science, showing that science can be fun and there is a lot more to it than people think.
Wood said, “It gives them a good opportunity to show students that science is very investigative field. Even if only one student takes this to heart, then maybe they could make the next great invention.”
