Pierce FCCLA Chapter Competes at Districts

Pierce High’s FCCLA chapter headed to Wayne for the District STAR Contest and came back with champions.
STAR stands for Students Taking Action for Recognition. This is a competitive event system in the Family Career Community Leaders of America organization.
Members competed in individual or team events. Tristen Sell competed in Teach and Train, Ashley Pedersen and Stephanie Rinkel competed in Spotlight on Children, and Leslie Dohmen and Breane Hoffman competed in an awareness project where they advocated for Organ Donation. Alyson Garcia competed in Job Interview, and Sydney Acklie competed in Career Investigation. Mariah West and Courtney Hansen competed in Chapter Community Service Project. Kiley Biermann and Elizabeth Harris competed in Food Innovations. Shelby Ronspies and Kaylee Dankert competed with a Nebraska Competitive event.
Everyone from the Pierce FCCLA Chapter that went to Wayne that day to compete was recognized for her efforts and received a medal. These students included Tristen Sell, Ashley Pedersen and Stephanie Rinkel with gold medals. With silver medals, members Alyson Garcia, Leslie Dohmen, Breane Hoffman, Sydney Acklie, Mariah West, Courtney Hansen, Kiley Biermann and Elizabeth Harris. Finally winning bronze medals were Kaylee Dankert and Shelby Ronspies.
The members going on to compete at the State Competition in April include Tristen Sell, Ashley Pedersen, Stephanie Rinkel, Leslie Dohmen, Breane Hoffman, Mariah West, Courtney Hansen, Kiley Bierman and Elizabeth Harris.
State takes place in Lincoln on April 9 through 11.
