Choir Presents Spring Concert
The Pierce High choral department presented the annual spring choir concert on Tuesday evening, May 8, in the high school gymnasium. It was an evening filled with fun and sadness. The concert started with the junior high choir, then concert choir, singing “Jubilant Song.” The women’s group sang “The Poet Sings,” one of their contest pieces, and the men’s group sang “Sinner Man” with soloists Ethan Valverde, Clayton Craft, and Tyler Steckleberg. The choir also sang their contest song, “Da Pacem.”
When the full choir finished those songs, the jazz choir sang “Dream” and “Blue Skies.”
Before choir director Mrs. Connie Jessen did her traditional senior send-off, she showed the new plaque with all names of the All-State Singers since 1985.
The choir sang “Seasons of Love” while Jessen read the seniors’ names. Mrs. Jessen handed out the plaques to all of the seniors and gave an award to Molly Harris. Harris was awarded the outstanding performer of the room for district music contest on April 20.
After the concert concluded, the choir held an ice cream social.
