Book Swap at Pierce Elementary

By Parker Sackville & Kaila Spieker   On Friday, December 9, Mrs. Peters’s sixth grade class sponsored a “Book Swap” with K-6  students. This is the 3rd year that Mrs. Peters’s class  has done this.  The Book Swap is an event where kids bring books to swap for other books.  Seventy-one students participated this semester, swapping over 300 books! Rock Tumbling in Fourth Grade

Fourth graders listened and watched as Clayton Carlson's dad, Jerome Carlson, showed rocks that would be put into a tumbler with grit and water. These rocks will go through several different stages of tumbling and polishing, which will smooth them down and give them a shiny finished look. Mr. Carlson explained how the machine worked and talked about rock tumbling as a hobby. Each stage of the process will be shown to the students . . .

Fourth Graders Read "Honest Abe's Words"

  A group of fourth graders read "Honest Abe's Words", a biography of Abraham Lincoln's. The students read important facts and details about Abe's life.They learned his view on slavery and about the treatment of people during the mid-1800's. After reading the story, the kids wrote details on paper strips and arranged them in chronological order to make a large poster of events in Lincoln's life. . . .

Pierce Wrestlers Compete

Pierce Wrestling Duels Plainview by Alex McKeown   The Pierce High wrestling team traveled to Plainview on Thursday, January 12, for a duel against the Pirates. The Bluejays had only six matches due to empty weight slots on both teams and ended up losing the duel 45-36. Winter Royalty Held at PHS

Pierce Speech Team Starts Season
