Nineteen Pierce High students were inducted into the National Honor Society on Friday, January 22 at Pierce High School.

Sophomores, juniors, and seniors are eligible for Honor Society. Students are elected into National Honor Society based on four characteristics: character, service, scholarship, and leadership, which they demonstrate in and out of school.

National Honor Society President Chelsea Atkins was mistress of ceremonies. Veteran Honor Society members wrote and conducted the ceremony. Speeches about the four characteristics were given by Adam Geiger, Kaelee Stuchlik, Lacey Adams, and Amanda Hanlin. Choir members under the direction of Mrs. Connie Jessen sang "One Single Light".

New members inducted on Friday were Dylan Arens, Michaela Acklie, Tanner Dickey, Megan Gerteisen, Cierra Jensen, Elyssa Leach, Cady Reinke, Alyssa Blair, Amy Fleer, Brandon Freeman, Ashton Johnson, Austin Koehlmoos, Katherine Lockee, Haley Oestreich, Eleanor Pytleski, Connor Reed, Amy Venteicher, Laurie Venteicher, and Payton Wragge.
