CCDC Presents at Pierce High

The Community Character Development Coalition (CCDC) team came to the Pierce High School gym to give a presentation for Pierce Junior High School and then Pierce High School on Wednesday, January 20. They discussed healthy relationships and how to make them work.

The team had a few students come and help demonstrate with clever activities. Zach Fehringer was blindfolded and told to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. When he wasn’t very successful, Tyler Woslager was called down to give him directions. This was compared to a relationship and how having someone outside the relationship help and guide can be a benefit.

Senior Hailey Rutherford helped demonstrate. She was told to sit in a chair and then stand up several times. Then she had to cover her eyes and do the same, but one time when she sat down the CCDC member conducting the activity put a whoopee cushion on the seat. After that Hailey was nervous to sit down anymore. This demonstrated how, when trust is gone, things in a relationship don’t work so well.

CCDC presenters showed the steps to a healthy relationship and said that abstinence is the best choice for a successful relationship.
