Youth Track Meet Postponed (Again) To May 29

The Pierce High School Youth Track Meet has been postponed (again) to Thursday, May 29 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the high school track facility. Hopefully, there will be better weather!
Children should arrive by 5:00 p.m. to receive name and event tags at a check-in table located in front of the main grandstand.
Boys and girls divisions include preschool and kindergarten, first and second grade, third and fourth grade and fifth and sixth grade. The divisions are based on the grade level the child will be in the 2008-09 school year.
Events for the meet include preschool and kindergarten: baseball throw, long jump, 50 m dash, 100 m dash, 200 m dash.
First and second grade: baseball throw, long jump, 50 m dash, 100 m dash, 200 m dash, 400 m dash.
Third and fourth grade: softball throw, long jump, 100 m dash, 200 m dash, 400 m dash, 800 m run.
Fifth and sixth grade: high jump. long jump, shot put, 100 m dash, 200 m dash, 400 m dash, 800 m run.
Each child may be in a maximum of three events.
The order of events are as follows:
5:30 p.m. - Baseball throw, long jump, shot put
6:20 p.m. - long jump, softball throw, high jump
7:10 p.m. - 50 m dash
7:20 p.m. - 100 m dash
7:40 p.m. - 800 m run
7:50 p.m. - 200 m dash
8:10 p.m. - 400 m dash
Start times for events are approximate. It will be important to listen to the PA announcer.
The entry fee for the meet is $8.00 per child. Families with more than one child pay $5.00 for each additional child. Entry forms may be found in the Pierce County Leader, May 15th edition, or by contacting Mark Brahmer at the high school. Deadline for entries was Monday,May 19, 2008.
